Interior Design by James Gold (Digital Rendering)
“How would you describe your style?”
That’s always the first question I ask my clients. As an interior design consultant based in NYC, I help people craft their ideal home spaces, ranging in style from traditional to bohemian to sleek and minimalist.
Gold Interior Design has been helping to beautify New Yorkers’ homes since 2013, and has now grown to a small team. As the principal interior designer, I draw inspiration from NYC’s fabulous design showrooms and museums. I’m always doing visual research for new textiles, fresh color schemes and exciting furniture ideas, and I love working closely with clients to help make their dream space become a reality, and a place that channels their own unique style.
Here on my portfolio page, you’ll see some of my original drawings, plus examples of recent client projects and Mood Boards. Enjoy!

Color Story: Whites, pale grey, pops of warm color
This owners of this TriBeCa living room decided it was time for a style refresh. We worked together to open up the room’s layout, incorporating lighter-colored furniture and a subtle palette of greys and whites that helped make the space seem much larger and brighter.

Dining AREA & Home Office, East Village, new york
Color Story: Jewel tones, gold, natural wood and white
This unfurnished pre-war apartment was transformed completely with built-in cabinets, a drapery system customized for the client’s needs, and vintage carpets paired with modern, sleek white furniture with chrome accents. Artwork and small sculptures are inspired by the collection of the Met Museum.
The finished room design allows the client to move flexibly between activities, utilizing fold-down tabletops to convert from a dining area to a home office.
